Meet Stacy Travis

Stacy Travis, Owner and Publisher of Town Planner of Northwest Indiana, is a lifelong resident of the Region. Having grown up here, raised her family here, and operated her business locally since 2009, she has a deep understanding of the Northwest Indiana community. With more than 30 years of experience in advertising and marketing, Stacy is passionate about helping local businesses grow and connect with the families they serve.

The best part of my job is meeting with business owners and their staff, hearing their stories of how they started their business and how it has evolved, and then working together to grow their business! It is a partnership I take seriously. The relationships I build and the business growth that I support are my passions.

About Stacy

My family has deep roots in Northwest Indiana. My father and both of my grandfathers worked in steel mills. I grew up in Highland, Indiana, and it is where I met my husband. My family and I now call Schererville home. I’m a Northwest Indiana girl at heart, as a lifelong resident. When it came time to make a career for myself, I wanted a role that would give back to the community and enhance Northwest Indiana.

Ultimately, these two goals prompted me to start Town Planner of NWI in 2009 when my kids were small. This business allowed me the flexibility to spend more time with my children and attend their school events. I soon found that I was making business connections across Northwest Indiana and helping small business owners set and achieve the goals vital to their growth and success.

Now that my kids are grown, I am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer and continue to give back to the community. I have found my work with CASA, as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, to be the most meaningful of my volunteer activities.

I am also a member of the Crown Point, Crossroads, Duneland, Highland/Griffith, Schererville, St. John/Dyer and Valparaiso Chambers of Commerce.

I have a Communications Degree from Indiana University-Bloomington and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University-South Bend.

Stacy was recently named Marketing & Media Influential Woman of the Year by NWI Influential Women’s Association, as well as Town Planner’s Publisher of the Year.

Crystal

Director of Marketing & Operations

Crystal is a long-time Northwest Indiana resident with deep roots in the community and a passion for connecting local businesses with the people they serve. She holds degrees in Paralegal Studies and Business Administration with a concentration in Management, bringing a strong foundation in organization, leadership, and strategic planning to her work.

With over 16 years of experience across the legal, marketing, and business fields, Crystal plays a key role in managing operations, overseeing advertising partnerships, and supporting digital content and client relationships at Town Planner of NWI.

Crystal and her husband, Mike, have three children-one currently in nursing school and two younger children. Outside of work, she stays busy serving on a PTO board and volunteering with local organizations. She also enjoys traveling and visiting Disney World with her family.

What Crystal loves most about Town Planner is the opportunity to work directly with local businesses and help them grow through meaningful, community-focused advertising. She values long-term client relationships and takes pride in being a trusted resource for businesses looking to connect with Northwest Indiana families.

April

Editorial & Publications Coordinator

April is a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident with a genuine passion for community connection and local storytelling. Aside from eight years spent in Southwest Florida, Indiana has always been home.

She holds a Master of Arts in English from Florida Gulf Coast University, where she was awarded an APEX Scholarship from the Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce for excellence in philanthropy, leadership, and professionalism. April is also a member of Sigma Tau Delta and the Golden Key International Honour Society.

In her role at Town Planner, April enjoys helping local businesses and community organizations promote their events, showcasing local photography, and contributing to the creation of beautiful, informative calendars each year.

Outside of work, April is a founding member and administrator of Porter County Neighbors Helping Neighbors and has volunteered with the Animal Refuge Center and Midwest Dachshund Rescue. She enjoys exploring new destinations with Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Club, going to the movies, bowling, and spending time at Indiana Dunes with her son, Brayden, and their dog, Copper.

What April values most about her role at Town Planner is the flexibility of working from home while collaborating closely with the people and organizations that make Northwest Indiana special.

Town Planner is a nationwide franchise created over thirty years ago by Larry Paulozzi. Larry created Town Planner so that families in the community could have a premier resource guide to all the area information and events. This provides small business owners with the perfect opportunity to reach local families 365 days of a year at a cost of pennies per household. Today, our network distributes the Town Planner community calendar to over four million households nationwide.
